Welcome to 2nd Grade!

Hi! My name is Chris Lane and this will be my 33rd year to share my love of learning with kids. I am delighted that I get to spend this year at Decker Prairie with my friends and your children!

I was born and raised in Georgia where I graduated from Georgia College with a BS in Early Childhood Education. I have been blessed to teach Kindergarten, 1st, 3rd, and 5th grades during my teaching career.  This year I am excited to teach with the wonderful second grade team!

My husband, Bruce, and I have been married for 32 years and we have one son, Christian.

I believe that positive parent/teacher communication is essential to the success of your child! The best way to contact me is to email me at or you may call the school and leave me a message.

I am looking forward to this year as we each learn to become unique members of an awesome second grade team!

If you did not receive the email, please let me know and I will try again.

Field Day Information

Friday, April 21 is we will be having field day rain or shine! If it is raining, we will be inside. If we are blessed with a sunny day, we will be outside. If we are outside, there will be water games.
so there is a possibility that your child may get wet. If they do they will need a change of clothes and possibly a towel. We are asking that you please send a change of clothes and a towel to school on Friday, just in case we get wet!
