I'm so excited for the start of a new year and having your child in my class! Your kids will have a great time exploring new things and learning about the world around us.

I can’t believe we are in the final days of school!!

 ~Tuesday: Students are invited to bring their favorite stuffed animal and blanket. 

~Wednesday: End of year ice cream party and LAST DAY of school for PM Pre-K!!

The party will take place outside in the Pre-K playground, weather permitting

¡No puedo creer que estamos en los últimos días de escuela!

 ~ martes: Los estudiantes son invitados a traer su animal de peluche favorito y una cobija

 ~ miércoles: La fiesta del final de año. ¡Celebramos con nieve!

La fiesta se toma lugar fuera en el patio de Pre-K, si el tiempo lo permite.

 ~ jueves: El último día de escuela. La salida será a las 10:45. Favor no mandar mochila!

May 22-26

This week we are in for a fun-filled week!!

~Our final theme is Pets!!

~Our afternoon PK/PPCD classroom will participate in Challenge Day at TMHS on Tuessday!

~Friday we will have SPLASH Day for Pre-K and PPCD here at Decker Prairie! Students should bring a towel and a change of clothes. Sunscreen must be applied at home prior to sending your child to school.

Assessments will wrap up this week, as our grades are due on Friday! It is amazing to see how much your kids have learned this year! I am so proud of them!!

Esta semana será una semana llena de diversión!

~ Nuestro tema final es mascotas!!!!

~ El viernes tendremos día SPLASH para pre-k y PPCD aquí en Decker Prairie! Los alumnos deberán traer una toalla y un cambio de ropa. Protector solar debe ser aplicado en casa antes de mandar a su hijo a la escuela.

Las evaluaciones se terminan esta semana y las calificaciones se van a casa la próxima semana. ¡Es muy emocionante ver cuánto los niños han aprendido este año! ¡Estoy tan orgullosa de ellos!!!!

May 8-12

This week we continue our theme on Giants and we will focus on Volcanoes.

Please continue reviewing the letters of the alphabet with your child. Remember, your child needs to be able to name all 26 letters of the alphabet, upper and lower, and all 26 sounds to receive an "S" in each respective area on their final report card. 

Remember also that in math, students will be assessed in counting to 30, counting 10 objects (one to one correspondence), recognizing and naming numbers 0-9, patterning, sorting, measurement (shorter, taller, shortest, tallest) addition to 5, subtraction from 5 or less, ordinal numbers (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th), and location words (over, under, between, on, in front of, behind, by, in).  

Please be sure to check and sign your child’s folder every day. Your child's folder is our form of communication. If your child loses their folder, or if their folder is dirty or torn, please replace it. We have run out of all extra folders.

¡Esta semana continuamos el tema de los gigantes! Nos enfocaremos en los volcanes.

Seguimos repasando las letras del alfabeto. Recuerda que su hijo/a debe poder nombrar las 30 letras, mayusculas y minusculas, y sus sonidos. Favor repase las letras con su hijo/hija toda las noches. 

Recuerda tambien que en las matemáticas, los niños necesitan poder contar a 30, contar 10 objetos, hacer un patron, clasificar, medir (shorter, taller, shortest, tallest) sumar a 5, restar, numeros ordinales (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th), palabras de posicion (over, under, between, on, in front of, behind, by, in).

Fun Run

 
El "Fun Run" para la clase Bilingue de Pre-K sera este viernes, 5 de mayo, a las 11:00. Los ninos necesitan usar zapatos de tenis y ropa apropiada para correr. Padres podran asistir. 
 
The "Fun Run" for the afternoon Pre-K class will take place on Friday, May 5, at 2:45. Parents are welcome to attend as spectators. Please dress your child in tennis shoes and clothing appropriate for running.
 
 

We had 2 butterflies hatch! The kids were thrilled!! Sorry, I only got a picture of one as we were about to release it. 

This week we start a 2 week theme on Giants and we will focus on Dinosaurs.

Out of our 4 original caterpillars, we are down to 2 chrysalises and expect one to have either hatched over the weekend or hatch early in the week!

¡Esta semana empezamos dos semanas del tema de los gigantes! Nos enfocaremos en los dinosaurios.

De las 4 orugitas, quedan solamente 2 crisálidas. Ya estan por convertirse en mariposas!

Seguimos repasando las letras del alfabeto. Recuerda que su hijo/a debe poder nombrar las 30 letras, mayusculas y minusculas, y sus sonidos. Favor repase las letras con su hijo/hija toda las noches.

We had an unfortunate mishap with one of our chrysalises. However, I expect the other two to have hatched either over the weekend or early in the week! Stay tuned!
Now our 3 caterpillars have all formed into a chrysalis. We should be seeing our first butterfly emerge at the end of the week. Hopefully on Friday, but possibly over the weekend.

Apr 17-21

This week we start a 2 week Insect theme 

Our caterpillars are continuing to grow. We currently have 4 and 2 were very close to the chrysalis stage on Friday!

¡Esta semana empezamos dos semanas del tema de los insectos! Ahora tenemos 4 orugitas. Siguen comiendo y creciendo. Dos de ellas estan casi en el etapa de crisálida.

Apr 10-13

This week is our 2nd and final week of our Spring theme!

A couple of our butterfly eggs have hatched and are busy eating and growing. We are watching and waiting for the to form a chrysalis. 

We continue to review the letters of the alphabet.

In math the kids had fun with measurement and we are introducing addition. 

We will have our Easter egg hunt on Thursday. Please send in a basket with a dozen treat-filled eggs by Wednesday, so we can prepare for our hunt. Please be sure to label your child's basket.

¡Esta semana terminamos nuestro tema de la primavera! Ya han nacido 2 orugitas. Estan comiendo y creciendo. Estamos viendo y esperando con emocion que se conviertan en crisálidas.

Seguimos repasando las letras del alfabeto.

En matemáticas, los niños se divertieron con las medidas. Vamos a introducir las sumas esta semana.

Tendremos nuestra busqueda de huevos el jueves. Favor enviar una cesta con 12 huevos llenos de golosinas para la junta. Las cestas deben llevar el nombre de su hijo.

This week we begin our two week theme of Spring!

We are listing and looking out for signs of spring. We've also brought in a milkweed plant with butterfly eggs that we will be observing to witness the life cycle of a butterfly!

In math, we have begun measurement and will tackle addition next week.

Please be sure to check and sign your child’s folder every day. If your child loses their folder, or if their folder is dirty or torn, please replace it. We have run out of all extra folders.

¡Esta semana comenzamos nuestro tema de la primavera! Estamos listando y buscando señales de la primavera. También hemos traído una planta “Milkweed” con huevos de mariposa para observar el ciclo de vida de una mariposa! En matemáticas, han comenzado a medir. Las sumas comenzaran la próxima semana.

 

Por favor asegúrese de revisar y firmar la carpeta de su hijo todos los días. Si su hijo pierde su carpeta o su carpeta está sucio o roto, por favor cámbielo. Hemos agotado todas las carpetas adicionales.
