HOME Welcome!

Hi,

My name is Christina Mace and when I was six years old, I knew that I was going to become a teacher. I love teaching children and being instrumental in their learning and watching them succeed.

I am a native Houstonian and live in Cypress with my sweet fur baby, Joy. I am active in my church, an avid traveler and

foodie. I also enjoy spending time with my friends and family, in Brenham.

I am a graduate of East Texas Baptist University where I received a degree in Elementary Education and began my teaching career with an excitement that continues to grow. After many years teaching in various districts across Texas, I am excited to make Decker Prairie Elementary and Tomball ISD my teaching home.

My experience includes teaching Kindergarten through Third Grade, Special Education, Reading Specialist, Reading Intervention and Dyslexia.

My passion as a teacher is to give children a joy for learning that will continue to grow!

I look forward to working together with you and your child as we Celebrate Success!

SOCIAL STUDIES PROJECT!

Timeline Social Studies Project Next Week!!!!

Dear Second Grade Parents,

We are going to continue studying timelines in Social Studies next week.  Your child will be creating a timeline project about themselves in class for a major grade.  The timeline will include 6  events with related details to their life.  The timeline will need to include 6 pictures (printed photos or hand drawings created in class) ; one from each event in their life.  Examples: Date I was born, date my brother was born, date I started Kindergarten, etc.

If you choose to send photographs please send them no later  than Wednesday, January 30.  Please discuss the event description for each photograph with your child as they will be writing each detail on their own in class.  Please make sure the photographs that you send can be cut and pasted to the student’s timelines. Please feel free to make notes and dates on the back of the photos as reminders.  If you choose not to send photos please make notes on this page or another page and send it with your child to school.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact your child’s teacher.

Thank you,

Second Grade Team
