The school bus is in town and ready to bring boys and girls to new and exciting adventures in kindergarten!  I am so excited for the 2019-2020 school year to begin and to welcome each one of you to Decker Prairie Elementary.

My name is Kay Franklin and I will be your child's teacher this year. I am a graduate of Sam Houston State University, where I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education with a Kindergarten Endorsement.  I have taught kindergarten in Tomball ISD for 20 years.  My family includes my wonderful husband, our two sons and of course Maxey the dog.  I enjoy the beach, going to the hill country, and I love, love, LOVE shopping trips.  I can't wait to meet and learn all about my new students and their families.

Interactive Storytime (Week 3/23)

This week we are going to do a fun activity! I found an awesome book to share with the kids called Harry the Dirty Dog by Gene Zion. I absolutely loved it and believe your child will too! Talking about reading is so important, therefore I encourage your child to share their favorite part of the book with you and your family. If you choose to dive deeper, you may ask them to share the setting and characters of the story. Have fun reading and continue to check Edlio for weekly posts!
