Hello! I am so excited to be your child's teacher!

This is my 22nd year teaching and 14th year at Decker Prairie. I graduated from Sam Houston State University. I am a super proud Mama of my Tomball High School daughter who also got her solid foundation at Decker Prairie Elementary. In my free time, I enjoy spoiling my three French Bulldogs and spending time with my family.

I absolutely love my job! For me, there is nothing better than watching the excitement in children's eyes and seeing the smiles on their faces as they learn something new. Thank you for sharing your child with me this year! Together we can achieve success!

Moms and Muffins (Donuts)

Moms and Muffins is this Friday morning in our cafeteria. If you are coming, please make sure you have turned in your name on the pink sheet so a badge will be printed and ready for you! The pink sheet came home in last weeks Wed folder. Unfortunately if you have never had your ID scanned at the front desk, you will have to wait in line to have that done (even if you send in the pink sheet). Thank you all for being awesome moms!

Progress reports go home tomorrow! I'm so proud! The kids have worked so hard this year! At the end of kindergarten everyone needs to be reading an independent level c. (95% accuracy on a level c book they haven't read before).
Keep your child reading so they won't regress over the summer!

Our field trip to the Oil Ranch is this Wednesday!  Please make sure your child is wearing our black DPES shirt (or a black t-shirt) and tennis shoes and has a sack lunch w/a drink. Everything needs to be disposable. We will be loading the buses at 8:50am and will be headed to the ranch at 9:00am. All children will ride the bus to and from our field trip. If you want to take your child home afterwards, you will have to follow the bus back to DPES and then sign him/her out in the front office. We are looking forward to having a fun day!

Happy April! Our field trip is next Wednesday! Please make sure you have returned your child's permission slip and let me know if they will need a sack lunch. As of today, I have 4 parent chaperones. I would love to have more because it is easier to navigate the Oil Ranch with smaller groups. Please let me know if you are able to chaperone and fill out the district background check on the TISD website. :)

Egg hunt tomorrow

Due to the weather, we will have to move the egg hunt inside the building.  Unfortunately, parents will not be able to attend due to having to do one class at a time and we will not know the exact time for each class.

Please let me know if you have parent concerns.

Easter egg hunt this Thursday at 2:45. You are welcome to come and watch. Please let me know before Thursday, so the front office can have a badge pre-printed for you. The kids will need to bring 6 filled eggs (no candy) and an empty basket. This is not a class party day. No school on Friday! Happy Easter!

Party on the Prairie times

The festival runs from 1-6pm on Saturday. Silent Auction is from 1-5pm and Live Auction is from 4-6pm.

Egg Hunt, Field Trip and Party on the Prairie

The Kindergarten Easter egg hunt will be next Thursday at 2:45pm. This isn't a class party day. You are welcome to come and watch. The office is asking all parents that are coming to fill out the pink reservation form that was in yesterday's Wed folder. This is to ensure a speedy parent check in on that day.
Our grade level field trip to the Oil Ranch is on April 11th. The permission slip for this went home in yesterday's Wed folder as well. Parents that would like to come and chaperone must fill out the district background check info on the TISD website 2 weeks prior to our trip.
Party on the Prairie is this Sat! It is our major fundraiser for our school. There will be a silent auction (our class project), live auction (class baskets, autographed Astros and Texans gear), games and food. See you there!

Jingle Bell Jog Update

It was announced this morning that our class brought in the most money out of our grade level for the Jingle Bell Jog. Our class brought in $602.00!!!
We have earned popsicles from the PTO! That money is going to help renovate our track that the kids use during P.E.
Thank you for your support!
