Dear Third Grade Families,
It is time to order recorders. The recorder is a beginner woodwind instrument that all third and fourth grade children play at DPES. This is the same recorder we have used for many years (Yamaha brand). If your child has a recorder (any brand) please make sure it is labeled and brought to Mrs. Mathes. If they do not have a recorder, please order through the link below by Wednesday, February 19 . Every child will need a recorder to play.

If you are unable to purchase through SchoolCash, Yamaha recorders can be found at our local Music & Arts store. Thank you for your continued support.

for the Fourth Grade Musical - "Toys!"
performed on the DPES stage
We will not be assigning costumes for the show. Your child may wear a toy outfit of their choice, from one of the following 5 categories:
Toy Soldiers (no weapons please) – This could be similar to the army men from Toy Story, Nutcracker soldiers, or a G.I. Joe type action figure that represents a branch of our military.
Princess Dolls – This could cover any of the main fairytale princesses/heroines, ballerinas, or Barbie type figures.
Marionettes/Puppets – Similar to Howdy Doody, Pinocchio type dolls, Sesame street characters, or even as simple as your child in a nice outfit with puppet mouth lines, freckles, or rosy cheeks and strings on their wrists to show they are puppets.
Rag Dolls – Very much like Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls, baby dolls, stuffed dolls, American girl type dolls. This is another very easy choice as they can put on a nice outfit/dress and paint on freckles, rosy cheeks, and put their pigtails.
Teddy Bears – Stuffed animals fall in this category and could be a variety of animals, but we do need some teddy bears.
Alternative ideas – If none of the above toys work for your child feel free to find something that suits them…we only ask that it be clear they are a toy and it is school appropriate.
***Keep in mind the stage is hot, and they will have a small amount of space on the risers.
